Theory of Change Simulation Course
Overview
An interactive, seven-module simulation course designed to help urban planning professionals and sustainability experts create quality Theories of Change (ToCs) (high-level project outlines) resulting in a decrease in time-consuming revisions and improving autonomous ToC creation.
Results:
88% boost in learner performance based on pre- and post-assessments.
High employee-perceived engagement and confidence based on pre- and post-surveys (an average of 2.0 out of 5 point Likert scale survey where lower scores indicate greater engagement).
See below for project highlights.
Project Highlights
Learner Exploration & Discovery: Learners explore desk reports and “consult” with stakeholders to gain background context that will be important to complete future tasks.
Interactive Note-taking: Learners can take notes that are saved throughout the course. These notes can be printed off at the end of the course.
Interactive Hover: Learners uncover more information about each piece of the sentence by hovering over it.
Custom Flashcard Interaction: Learners select a flashcard to flip it. Flashcards that have been flipped are grayed out.
Custom Sticky-Note Simulation: Designing this custom interaction was a fun challenge! These slides simulate the task of writing on sticky notes and organizing them into a pyramid-like shape.
Custom Drag-and-Drop: Learners drag an answer and drop it into the correct category. Correct answers stay put, and incorrect answers go back to the starting line.
